Julie Vasquez is a native of Twin Falls and a mother to three active boys. She wanted to start this publication because she loves being involved in her community and wants her kids to grow up loving it too. She has a degree in mass communications and worked as a graphic artist in both the newspaper and magazine industry. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, being outdoors and traveling.
Shawnee Burt
Community Events Specialist
Shawnee Burt moved to Twin Falls in 2013 with her family and loves the Magic Valley! She loves exploring and enjoying the area with her husband Ryan and her four kids. This area has so many wonderful and unique things to participate in, and Shawnee wants to make information available to families to help them spend quality time together! In her spare time, she loves kayaking on the Snake River, reading books with her family, and finding new and interesting places to explore.

My name is Jessie McAllister and I have lived here in Burley for eight years with my husband Taylor! Neither of us grew up here but we were able to find this little valley through my husband's work as a PA, in family medicine. We can definitely feel the magic-we don't think we could ever raise our four children anywhere else! We have been thrilled to experience the outdoor activities in Idaho-like boating on the Snake River, skiing at Pomerelle and hiking, biking and exploring. Travel is something I am passionate about because experiencing other people's cultures is so enriching!
We also love to invest in the community here and after starting the Burley Farmers Market a few years ago, have been able to volunteer and serve around the community, in many other facets. We love it here! Now, I can't wait to connect more families and children to the free events that are happening daily around the valley-working with Southern Idaho Kids, Mini-Cassia.

Kristen moved to Twin Falls in 2011 with her husband, and they have had their four children while living here in the Magic Valley. She is passionate about connecting children and families with their community and providing opportunities for them to learn and grow. Kristen holds a B.A. in communications with an emphasis in public relations. She currently works for BestNotes, which is an electronic health record system that provides software for behavioral health and addiction treatment professionals. Kristen loves meeting new people, enjoys gardening, painting, and going on outdoor adventures with her family.
